We have a very special challenge for triathlon clubs…
As a club, complete as many full/long-distance triathlons as possible in any 10 consecutive days between 19th July and 30th September 2021. X=10!
All the swim, bike, run distances your club members do in the 10-day window will be combined and divided by the standard full/long-distance triathlon swim, bike, run distances – to give your club’s total number of completed full/long-distance triathlons.
Your club can choose what 10 consecutive days to do the Challenge X over – but it has to be completed by the 30th September 2021.
There will be three prize-winning categories, based on the size of club:
THE WINNING CLUB IN EACH OF THE THREE CATEGORIES ABOVE WILL RECEIVE A PHOTOSHOOT WITH A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHER (T&C’s apply, UK clubs only).
*** AND ***
THE THREE TRIATHLETES IN EACH CATEGORY WHO COMPLETE THE MOST SWIM, BIKE OR RUN DISTANCES FOR THE CHALLENGE WILL RECEIVE A BEAUTIFUL HAND-MADE CHALLENGE X MEDAL – FORGED FROM MOLTEN IRON!

The winners will be announced on 1st October 2021
Many clubs have members who are not actively training or attending club sessions for many reasons. Any active club member over the age of 18 years can participate. We rely on the honesty of the clubs.
The triathlon club can specify the 10-day window. The window must be declared at least 7 days before the start of activity. The club shall declare a target of the number of full/long-distance triathlon distances it plans to achieve. All activity must be complete and reported by 30th September 2021.
Distances to make up a full/long-distance triathlon:
The distances achieved by the club will be divided by the appropriate value to determine the number of full/long-distance triathlon distances. Of the three disciplines, the lowest number of full/long-distance triathlon distances will be that club’s score. It is important the club keeps the three discipline distances in balance.
The distances achieved by the club will be signed off by the club chairman; and the total number of full/long-distance triathlons emailed to us at: wrt2021relay@gmail.com
Each club is encouraged to attract goal-based sponsorship. For example, the sponsor contributes to The Laura Hyde Foundation when the club has achieved 10 full/long-distance triathlon distances. In addition, we encourage each club to publicise its challenge through local press, social media, and TV.
Fundraising will be done via the WRT2021 page on the Just Giving website: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/WRT2021LH
